Cambridgeshire County Council identified a need to increase school capacities in St Ives to meet growing demand from the new developments being built in the town.
This resulted in the development of a new build two storey, 18 classroom primary school along with a single-storey changing room and minibus garage. The new building would increase pupil numbers to 630, a rise of 50 per cent.
Bloom & Wake were commissioned to carry out full design, installation and commissioning of both the Mechanical and Electrical services within the new build and to update the electrical systems within the existing buildings.
Working for main contractor Kier Eastern, the M&E elements installed by the Bloom & Wake team included power supplies throughout the building, access control and CCTV, fire and intruder alarm systems, gas installation, emergency lighting and all telephone and data networks.
In addition, Bloom & Wake carried out all testing and commissioning of the mechanical and electrical works and relevant certifications.
